What is Frecator?
Frecator uses laser energy to treat and remove noncancerous skin growths and irregularities on the face and body. Once targeted with the laser energy, the skin growths are cauterized and scab over. Growths that can be addressed with Frecator include:
- Skin tags
- Keratosis
- Calcium bumps
- Hyperpigmentation
- Age spots
- Sun spots
- Broken capillaries
Frecator Candidates
Skin growths and irregularities can be present at birth or develop at any age. Those with raised or flat skin growths can benefit from Frecator for removal without the use of surgery. Frecator should only be used to treat noncancerous skin growths. Those with growths that can possibly be cancerous should be examined by a dermatologist and seek more aggressive treatment.
The Procedure
Before treatment, the skin will be cleaned and prepped, and a topical anesthetic might be used to maximize your comfort. The skin growth is then targeted with precise Frecator laser energy, delivered through a micro-needle. The micro-needle does not penetrate the skin but remains directly above its surface. A scab will then form over the treated growth.
Recovery and Results
After Frecator treatment, the protective scab will remain for one to two weeks. During this time, the area should be kept as dry as possible. Once the scab falls off, the area might appear pink in color but will continue to fade to the skin’s natural pigment. The results of Frecator treatment are permanent but cannot prevent future growths from forming.
