What is Cellulite?
Cellulite causes a dimpled appearance under the skin, typically on the thighs, hips, buttocks, and abdomen. Cellulite is not normal fat that can be eliminated with exercise. Instead, it’s caused by a distortion of the connective tissue, causing a lumpy appearance under the skin. Both men and women can struggle with cellulite, but it is much more common in women.
Cellulite Treatment
There are many noninvasive solutions to treating cellulite. Often, a combination of these two treatments is recommended for optimal cellulite improvement:
Cupping Massage: During a cellulite cupping massage, a massage therapist uses suction cups on areas where cellulite is present. This increases circulation to the area, allowing trapped toxins to be released. The deep massage redistributes fat cells beneath the skin, resulting in a smoothed appearance.
Ultrasound & Radiofrequency: These laser technologies can be used to target dimpling beneath the skin. The ultrasound and radiofrequency energy breaks down fat cells and increases blood flow to the area, allowing for toxins to be released. Collagen fibers are also stimulated, resulting in healthier, smoother tissue.
Recovery and Results
After cellulite treatment, there will be no required downtime and patients can return to their normal activities. Some bruising, redness, and soreness is normal after treatment, but this should diminish very quickly. Individual results of cellulite treatment will vary, but patients can expect to see some degree of cellulite improvement and a smoother body contour.
